Overview for 2010 Marylebone Summer Fayre
The Marylebone Summer Fayre takes place in Marylebone Village, London, W1 on a Sunday in June.
Once a low key afternoon event the Marylebone Summer Fayre has now become something of a festival and a date in a diary not to be missed. Last year's event was big... with approximately 30,000 people attending.
2010 will be the 7th Summer Fayre and will once again be organised and run by the Howard de Walden Estate. Closed to traffic, the streets will be full of bustling market stalls, fantastic retailers, top quality entertainment and some of the best food and drink in London.
Come along to what is a fantastic day out. Whether you're a solo traveller, a group of friends or bringing all the family come and help make 2010 a great success. There's something for everyone whether it's dining al fresco, dancing in the street, relaxing in the park to the sounds of the concert with a glass of Pimms and a hog roast or simply wandering the streets and picking up great gifts and treats from the vast array of stalls.
But this Fayre not only entertains its visitors it also supports a fantastic charity, namely Teenage Cancer Trust. The Marylebone Summer Fayre has been raising awareness and money for Teenage Cancer Trust for the last 5 years and with your help will continue to do so. The Howard de Walden Estate, as Event Organiser, is very proud to be supporting such a fine charity.
There is lots of activity along Marylebone High Street, Marylebone Lane, Moxon Street, Moxon Street Car Park, Devonshire Street and new to this year Paddington Street. The local retailers and independent retailers who hire stalls for the day all pull together to create a unique and wonderful day selling an array of fantastic cosmetics, clothes, food and gifts.
Throughout the Fayre you will be aware of various initiatives to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust, please give generously if you can.
As part of this fund raising exercise local estate agents Druce and Kay & Co, a local public house, Gunmakers with their supplier Diageo, and local supermarket Waitrose have teamed together in the Blue Zone to focus on collecting for our charity whilst making a truly distinctive 'festival zone'. This area will host a full days concert, a festival bar and delicious festival food. Set in the idyllic surroundings of the park this is the perfect place to lay back, enjoy the day knowing that every penny you spend at the bar is going towards helping a fantastic cause. Due to the generosity of the sponsors for this zone every penny spent at the bar goes directly to Teenage Cancer Trust, please see the Blue Zone and the Sponsor section for more information.
There is a lot to see and do at the Fayre. The Fayre is divided into coloured zones to make it easier for you to get around. You should find everything you need on this website.
